An oil skimmer is a machine that removes tramp oil/ grease/ fungus that floats on top of the coolant. The purpose of this machine is to keep coolant active by treating it regularly to prevent fungus formation. An oil skimmer serves as an economical alternative to filtration systems.
The oil skimmer is dipped into the tank containing the contaminated coolant. The floating oil adheres to the skimming media, which could be a belt, disk etc. The media rotates to the back where the dirt is scraped clean and collected in a tray.
